One of the ways that poker fans have been able to keep up with their favorite players is by following their Twitter accounts.  Players post messages, or “tweets”, about their wins, losses, travels and bad beats in messages limited to 140 characters. 

Some of these messages show the humor that it takes to make a career on the tournament circuit.  As they say, “sometimes you have to laugh to keep from crying”.

One of the most readable Twitter accounts comes from one of the most established players in the game: Doyle “Texas Dolly” Brunson.  The ten-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner and two-time Main Event champion has created a poker Twitter destination with his wit and humor.  Here are a few quotes form the “Babe Ruth” of poker.

“Sometimes I feel so old that I think when I was a kid, the Dead Sea was just sick.”

“Wow! Pepsi just came out with a Viagra cola. They are calling it Mount and Do.”

“What happens if you are scared half to death, twice?”

Another poker player that displays as much humor as skill is Canadian poker champion Daniel “Kid Poker” Negreanu.  Negreanu has also taken up the Twitter trend and has posted some funny and thought-provoking “tweets”.

“Why is it legal for a porn star to have sex for money, but it’s illegal for people to have sex for money off camera? Puzzling Laws in the US”

“If TSA is so worried about a cell phone causing a plane to crash, how in the world do they allow them on the plane and take our word for it?”
