ROULETTE
Roulette is a standard casino game in both land-based and online casinos. Most people have come across a roulette wheel, patterned with red and black numbers around its edge, the impressive silver handle at the top.
The 'croupier' is the casino worker who spins the wheel and holds the bets while acting as the "dealer" of the roulette wheel. After the players make their bets, the croupier spins the wheel and rolls a small white ball opposite the spin. When the ball slows down, it falls into one of the numbered slots on the wheel.
The most complex part of the game lies in the betting. One look at the betting grid next to the wheel shows what bets players generally make. The inside of the grid shows each number, while groups of numbers are displayed outside the grid.
Bets placed inside the grid are called "inside bets" and those outside the grid are called "outside bets". The hardest parts of playing roulette are recognizing the betting rules and tactics so make sure to consider them carefully!
The inside bets are generally on one or a handful of numbers.
The odds for inside bets are higher, but so are the payouts.
A straight up is a bet on only one number. Players place their chips in the center of the square labeled with their chosen number. A winning straight bet pays 35 to 1
A split is a bet on two neighboring numbers. Players place their chips on the line separating the two numbers. A winning split bet pays 17 to 1
A street bet is a bet on a row of three numbers, such as 7, 8, and 9. Players place their chips at the edge of the row. A winning street bet pays 11 to 1
A square (or "corner") bet is a bet on four numbers that form a square, such as 25, 26, 28, and 29. Players place their chips in the center of all the numbers, where the boxes meet. A winning square bet pays 8 to 1.
A six-number bet uses two adjoining rows, such as 16, 17, 18, and 19, 20 and 21. Players place their chips on the line between the two rows. A winning six-number bet pays 5 to 1.
A trio is a bet on 0, 1, 2 or 0, 2, 3. Players place their chips where the three numbers meet. A winning trio bet pays 11 to 1.

All of the spaces for outside bets are outside the grid.

Since outside bets cover more numbers, the odds are better but the payouts are lower.
A dozens bet covers one of three sets of twelve numbers: the First 12 (1-12), the Second 12 (13-24) and the Third 12 (25-36). Players place their chips on the labeled rectangle. A winning dozens bet pays 2 to 1.
A “column” bet covers one of the three columns on the grid: the First Column (1, 4, 7, etc.), the Second Column (2, 5, 8, etc.) and the Third Column (3, 6, 9, etc.). Players place their chips at the base of the column. A winning columns bet pays 2 to 1.
A “low” or “high” bet covers either the “low” numbers (1-18) or the “high” numbers (19-36). Players place their chips on the labeled rectangle. A winning “low” or “hight” bet pays even money (1 to 1).
A “red” or “black” bet covers either the red numbers or the black numbers. Players place their chips on the colored rectangle. A winning “red” or “black” bet pays even money (1 to 1).
An “odd” or “even” bet covers either the “odd” numbers (1, 3, 5, etc.) or the “even” numbers (2, 4, 6, etc). Players place their chips on the labeled rectangle. A winning “odd” or “even” bet pays even money (1 to 1). NOTE: 0 and 00 do not count as winning “even” bets.
